Top 5 Trends for 2019

Top 5 Trends for 2019

There’s no rest for the wicked; 2019 is literally around the corner and we’re already getting ready for all the fashion trends to come. We’ve analyzed several shows from every SS19 Fashion Week to pick the top five trends that seemed to resonate with the most designers and that kept making an appearance in different cities around the globe.

  1. ESCAPISM

Wish you were anywhere but here? You don’t really need to spend the money on a trip to Ibiza when a fabulous Loewe dress can evoke the same feeling. Clearly the idea of traveling, exploring and falling into wanderlust was a recurring thought of designers like Olivier Rousteing (Balmain) and Natacha Ramsay-Levi (Chloé), or maybe they were just really craving vacations.

Technology evolves every day, and as much as we love how it has made our lives easier, we still appreciate the time, work and heart put on hand-made pieces. Designers like Julie de Libran (Sonia Rykiel) and Jonathan Anderson (Loewe) did an amazing job celebrating the artistry of this craft. Not only are all these pieces more unique but are also worth every penny.

Can’t say we’re surprised. In 2018 the logomania blew up and was everywhere, from jackets to handbags to even underpants. To be honest, we get it. If you’re spending a large amount of money for a belt, you better make sure the whole world knows it is GUCCI.

It lives! Tie-dye is back and probably stronger than ever. Designers like Zoe Latta and Mike Eckhaus (Eckhaus Latta), and Stella McCartney, made sure to re-introduce this fun trend to their collections. It went from a subtle acid-wash look on boots to a full-blown bedazzled tie-dye dress.

Yes, your phone fits in it and yes, it can be use as a weapon for self-defense. Huge brands like Chanel are doing it, and so are up-and-coming ones like Nita Suri, a Spanish brand that doesn’t just design unique handbags but creates real architectural pieces. Dare to go against the norm and make a statement with a geometrical bag! Whether it is shaped as a pyramid, a ball, or a plain box, you’ll for sure get everyone’s attention.
