From The Runway To Your Closet: NYFW Biggest Trends
Last week, designers from all over the world took over New York to debut their fall 2018 collections at Fashion Week. The Hadid sisters and Cindy Crawford's look-a-like daughter, Kaia Gerber, flooded social media feeds everywhere, along with big-name celebrities attending their favorite designer's shows. One of the most memorable moments of the week? The now iconic image of Cardi B and Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, front row at Alexander Wang. While I impatiently wait for the day that I get front row, I've rounded up the top five trends to incorporate into your wardrobe asap, so you can be ready to stay in style this fall.
As seen on the models of Zimmerman and Victoria Beckham, this normally luxe fabric is being transformed into a more casual, everyday item. Paired with a graphic-t, turn this elegant, feminine fabric into a chic, modern outfit perfect for a day at work, shopping with girlfriends, or even a night out.
If you're not one to normally be adventuresome in fashion, this is a must try style of the season! Mixing and matching prints adds a fun and unexpected flare to any outfit. Polka dots and stripes, stripes and florals, florals and plaid, there are infinite combinations to take an outfit from generic and drab to unique and fab.
3. Tailored Suits
This look is everywhere this season and all in different silhouettes, fabrics, and styles. Whether you wear a full suit, or mix and match pieces of it into your outfit, a classic suit, tailored to perfection changes a typically masculine style into a confident and feminine statement. Every girl needs to be a bit of a tomboy once in a while.
From this point forward, animal prints might as well be considered a neutral. As shown in shows like Calvin Klein and DVF, they can be mixed in to any outfit AND in any way. From coats to dresses, skirts to pants, and shoes to bags, this bold print works from day to night. Are you fierce enough to try it?
5. Bold, Saturated Color
Orange, yellows, reds, purples, and magenta...this trend is sure to add spunk to any outfit. You may think bright colors are totally unflattering, but with an array of hues, you're sure to find the perfect choice for your hair and skin tone. Add a pop of color to your outfit and confidently strut the streets of any city.
